Halloween Chex Mix with Stasher Bags

Hi all! Can you believe there is only three days left until October?! I am beyond excited for this Halloween season and have been celebrating and decorating way early this year.  And of course you can't celebrate Halloween without sweets, so yesterday I decided to make my favorite fall chex mix.  This recipe is so delicious and makes a ton, so it's the perfect gift for neighbors, friends, or teachers.

I also have to share my new favorite kitchen product that I discovered, Stasher Bags!  They are reusable silicone bags that are completely plastic free! The best part is they can be boiled in up to 400 degrees, used in the oven and the microwave and are freezer safe.  Stasher bags also come in a ton of different colors and different sizes so they are great for lunch boxes too.  Of course I use mine to stash my Halloween trail mix 😜 so check out the link below for yours!

Check out the recipe here!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup brownie mix
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (I like dark chocolate!)
  • 1 1/2 cups candy corn or candy pumpkins
  • 1 cup Reeses pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups Oreos (slightly crushed)
  • 1 1/2 cups pretzels (slightly crushed)
  • 9 cups Rice Chex
  • Gallon Ziploc Bags

Instructions

1. Pour out the Chex cereal into a large bowl.
2. On the stove top slowly heat the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter.  Remove from the heat every 30 seconds and consistently stir until melted completely.
3.  Pour the chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal and stir to coat.
4.  Divide the chocolate covered Chex into two large gallon-size Ziploc bags.  Pour the powered sugar into one and the brownie mix into the other.  Slowly shake the bags to coat the Chex.
5. Spread out the cereal on a cookie sheet and let set for about 10 minutes.
6.  Using another large bowl, combine the Chex with the pretzels, candy corn, Oreos, and Reese's.
7.  Enjoy or store in your Stasher Bags!
