Last night I made Talan his favorite dinner - breakfast! More specifically Mickey Waffles. Talan is the ultimate Disney kid and that's probably because I'm obsessed myself. Working for Disney in college instilled in me a love for all things Disney; especially their famous Mickey Waffles. My absolute favorite part of visiting Disney World is the Mickey Waffles they serve at all the hotels and restaurants. So of course I had to buy a waffle maker to recreate these at home. Below is the recipe I found that is the closest to tasting like the real thing! What's your favorite Disney food? Share in the comments below!
Ingredients
4 eggs, separated
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup milk
half a stick of butter, melted and cooled
1 teaspoon of vanilla or maple syrup
2 cups of flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Add chocolate chips or rainbow sprinkles if wanted!
Directions
Mix together the egg yolks and sugar until blended. Add milk, butter, and vanilla/syrup and stir until combined. All at once add flour, baking powder and salt. Mix to combine. If it is still too thick add more milk. In a different bowl, using a mixer beat together the egg whites until they form a peak. Then gently fold into the batter. Then bake using your waffle maker's instructions until golden brown. This batter will rise so it is not needed to add a lot of batter into the waffle maker.
These can be served with butter, powdered sugar, syrup, or even ice cream!
